Dark Night of the Soul

I just finished reading an intersting article about a new book on the life of Mother Theresa. This book includes correspondance from her to different spiritual confidants over the years and reveals some powerful things about her spiritual life. According to the article, the book talks about a "spiritual dryness" that lasted for almost all of her life and included the entire time she spent working with the poor and dying in Calcutta. Read the article and tell me what you think. I can't imagine the struggle she must have endured if these letters are accurate reflections of her spiritual and emotional state. Have you ever been through a period of doubt and darkness like this? Are you in one now? What did you learn about yourself, God, the world we live in? I have to tell you, it comforts me to know that even a woman like Mother Theresa struggles in her faith at times. I know I have and do struggle. What do you think about the responses from different people in the article? Let's talk about it.
