Stories from Ghana: Jacob Haynes

There is really no way to sum up all of the lessons that I learned during my time in Ghana into one paragraph, but I will try and relate one of the bigger points that i took away from the trip. While in Ghana, I came face to face with true desperation. I saw the look in the eyes of mothers who were holding out their infants, begging for us to treat them. I witnessed desperation in the actions of one women who was unable to get her baby treated at one of our clinics, so she walked over 5 miles to our second location. However, the most impacting desperation I saw was in the members of the African Christian Mission team that we interacted with. They were so hungry for the Lord and to know his Word. The burning desire that they displayed to follow and obey Christ with everything that they possessed really spoke to me. Their witness challenged me and forced me to examine whether or not I am offering up all of talents and possessions for the Lord to use, or if I am holding some back for myself.
